I Forgot My Wife, and Lost My Life
I married my wife and we had two lovely children. Life was simple but peaceful. My wife was a banker, very supportive, and me too I was working as a driver at the same bank. Things were not too easy, but we were managing.
One day, my wife sat me down and said, “My husband, this driving work, the money is too small, and the way they treat you too, I don’t like it. Let’s do something better.”
Ei, I didn’t understand her fully, but I trusted her. She even brought out half of her savings and gave it to me. That was how I entered real estate business.
Charlie, with my wife’s wisdom and advice, within just four years, we built a serious business. Money started flowing. We moved from managing life to enjoying life. Big man life.
That was where my problem started.
As CEO, I began to meet big men, big boys, high-class friends. We started chilling in expensive places, popping bottles, traveling anyhow. One of my friends introduced me to one fine lady. From there, my downfall started small small.
I began dating her. I stopped coming home early. Sometimes, I won’t even go home at all. The woman who suffered with me, who used her money to build the business, I didn’t even mind her again.
Any small chance, I go travel. Even if there was no business, I would create one just to go and enjoy with my side chick. I bought her house, bought her car, gave her everything she wanted. I was just spending money like water without thinking.
My wife? She never complained. Not even one day. But deep down, I knew she knew everything.
Then boom… things changed.
The business started going down. Deals were failing. Money was vanishing. To save the company, I went to take a big loan from a private bank, using the company as collateral.
Hmm… within one and a half years, I couldn’t pay. Before I realized, the bank had seized everything. Just like that, I went back to zero.
The shame alone… it was too much.
I started drinking. Every day, alcohol. I couldn’t even face my wife, so I went to stay with the side chick instead.
Then one day, I stepped out small. When I came back, what I saw there…
My best friend — the same guy who introduced the lady to me — was there with her. The two of them were doing what they shouldn’t be doing.
Ei!
My head scattered. I got angry and slapped him hard. The guy just laughed and said, “Why are you angry? She is my business partner. We just make money from foolish millionaires like you.”
That was when it hit me.
I had been scammed.
Everything I worked for… gone.
I ran straight to the private bank where I took the loan, hoping maybe the manager would have mercy on me and give me something small to start again.
Guess who the manager was…
